U.S. Department of State has submitted the annual report on the country-wise discussion of the state of human rights to the U.S. Congress. In the report titled “2020 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices: India” more than a dozen human rights issues prevailing in India have been listed.
A bail application filed by Deep Sidhu in Delhi Court transferred to District and Sessions Judge. Deep Sidhu is presently lodged in Tihar Jail. He was arrested in a cases related to 26 January Red fort events. Delhi Court transferred case in order to decide the jurisdiction of the appropriate court in hearing the matter. Modi led BJP government has passed the order in Indian-administrated Kashmir to inspect the social media accounts of the government employees. As per the order, the new government employees will be paid salaries only after undergoing a verification process by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The order authorizes the police to keep the check on the social media accounts of the people employed in the government sector.
On Monday, the opening statements in the trial of Darek Chauvin on charges of murder and manslaughter have started at the Hennepin County Government Centre. Chauvin is a former police officer in Minneapolis of America and is accused of the alleged murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020.
