Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has suspended his Republican US presidential campaign and endorsed Donald Trump. He announced it just ahead of the New Hampshire Republican primary where he was polling in the single digits.
“It’s clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance,” he said in a video posted on X on Sunday.
He was considered as a strong contender for the party’s nomination.
In response, Nikki Haley said she was now the “only one” able to beat US President Joe Biden.
Former President Trump said he is “very honored” by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ endorsement, telling Fox News Digital he is looking forward “to working together with him to beat Joe Biden.”
